[Edit:] Since everybody keeps asking me, I decided to put up the link here: Dance of the Macabre [/Edit]
Fanart for the fanfic 'Dance of the Macabre' by ~kremesch. I've had it lying around since June...... it's finally finished! This scene is when this Hojo-wannabe, Kurn, jams a power cell down Reno's throat, which reacts violently with the mako that's already in his system. I thought it was so cute when she wrote Rufus fell asleep at his bedside - though I believe he himself waved it away or something. Advanced Critique is welcome. (Somehow I think there's something missing, but I don't know what.) [Edit 2:] Just in case someone decides to accuse me of art theft - since this picture is different in quality in comparison to the rest of my gallery - I used heavy reference from a photograph I myself took especially for this purpose, and asked two of my classmates to pose. It's 100% my own work and effort.[/Edit2] |

Maybe it is that the coloring should've been more realistic as well? It looks rather... well, 'simplistic' compared to the lineart...
That being said; I still think it looks really great and you should be proud of it!
Otherwise, it has an overall quality that maintains its softness that I would imagine goes with the softer lighting of the evening, and there are no rules to interpretation.
Of course, I'm slightly biased because I'm flattered, and I love it anyway. I also like it when I can see the lineart underneath, as well. But that's just my taste.
P.S. His name was Kurn
I guess you can always experiment, though. You'll probably learn from it.
Yeah, the contrast is part of the problem I guess. It was really difficult though, because the a lot of shadows wouldn't go any deeper anymore, and I'm afraid that if I put more light on them, they become really pale. And that would also kill the illusion of night-time... *shakes head* I don't know what to do with it. Part of me wants to redo it, but.... eh, it's a tedious job. Maybe later, hahah.
But! I'm glad you like it.
By the way, it's Faithful, not Faithfull.

And yeah, that's the one. *laughs*
